President - Shawn Gary has served the Dallas Fire-Rescue with 11 years service as both firefighter and paramedic. He is currently assigned to Fire Station #12. He currently serves as President of BFFA.

Past President - James Hunter

 

          James Hunter

James E. Hunter, Sr. is currently the President for Dallas BFFA. He has previously held the positions of 1st and 2nd Vice President, Assistant Treasurer, Parliamentarian and Assistant Secretary. He has also headed the Grievance Committee for the past 15 + years. James holds the rank of Lieutenant and is an Advanced Instructor at the Training Academy. He has been a paramedic, Driver Engineer, and Command Tech during his 26 years on the Department. His list of accomplishments includes the BFFA and Dallas Fire Department Distinguished Service Awards, Special Recognition Award from the South Central Region of the IABPFF. James is also an Elder/Pastor in the Whispering Hills Church of Christ congregation. He has been married 27 years to his wife Patricia (Pat), and boasts 3 children (Christopher, James, Jr. and Kristy) and 2 grandchildren.

Marcus has 28 years experience on the Fire Department. He has served as both firefighter and paramedic during his career. He currently is assigned to Engine 55. Marcus and his wife, Ouida, have two lovely daughters, Morgan and Mia. Marcus and his family have spent countless hours making BFFA events successful.

Press Secretary - James Hill

James Hill - Dallas BFFA Press Secretary. James Hill currently holds the position of Press Secretary. He formerly held the position of Treasurer for six years. James also serves as the South Central Regional Director as well as the Financial Secretary for the IABPFF. James has been employed by the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department 29 + years. His current rank is Command Technician. He has been a paramedic as well as firefighter. He is also a member of the Honor Guard. James is married to Cynthia with a daughter, Kristie and four grand brats.

Chaplain - Robert Winters

         Robert Winters

Robert B. Winters began serving as the Interim Pastor to the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, of the South Dallas Area, in August of 2002; and in February 2003 was called to Pastor.  During his 2 1/2 year pastorate, the church redirected their ministry's focus to "going beyond the walls" and they experienced continued growth.  In addition to his ministry, Robert has served the citizens of Dallas as a firefighter for the Dallas Fire Rescue Department for the last 22 years and was appointed by the Chief of the Department to serve as Chaplain in 2004; leaving the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church to serve the members of the fire department and the citizens of Dallas full-time.  Robert, a gifted vocalist, has sung with numerous church and community choirs, including the Gospel Music Workshop of America Dallas Chapter, the DFW Mass Choir, and the National Association of Negro Musicians Dallas Metroplex Chapter.  He is the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. John V. Winters, who at the time of his death was the Pastor of the St. Luke Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX.  He is also the great-grandson of the late Dr. S. E. Steward the Founder/Pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX.  A native of San Antonio, Robert came to Dallas in fall of 1980 to pursue of a degree in Business Administration from Bishop College.  While attending college, he met his sweetheart for life, Charlotte.  After graduation, May 1983, they were married.  Robert answered God's call to the ministry, while a member of Friendship-West Baptist Church, in November1998 under the tutelage of Senior Pastor Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III.  He preached his initial sermon on March 14, 1999 entitled "What to Do When it Gets Dark" (John 6:16-21), giving evidence that God called him to preach, and was licensed subsequently.  Robert was ordained in September 2000.  Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Theology Degree at Dallas Theological Seminary.  He and Charlotte are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Tonesha Elizabeth, 20 and Nychelle Dominique, 11.   His civil organizations and affiliations are:  Dallas Black Firefighters Association, Christian Firefighters Association, Federation of Fire Chaplains (Southwest Region), North Texas Police and Fire Chaplains Association (Treasurer 2006-2007), Gospel Music Workshop of America (Dallas Chapter), National Association of Negro Musicians (Dallas Metroplex), and the Oak Cliff Baptist Ministers Union.
